Stable star flies the flag in Feehan

Nick Ryan Racing flag bearer Mahamedeis showed why his trainer believes the galloper is in career best form with a terrific 2nd placing in the Group 2 Feehan Stakes (1600m) at Moonee Valley on Saturday, September 7th.

The chestnut gelding jumped smartly and travelled well throughout the race before hitting the line strongly to finish 2 1/2 lengths behind winner Homesman, with Group 1 Kennedy Mile winner Best Of Days a head back in third.

Jockey Rhys McLeod was full of praise for the horse after the run.

“He’s run super, under the weight-for-age conditions it was a great run.”

And trainer Nick Ryan couldn’t be more proud of his star horse who has now won in excess of $600,000 in prizemoney.

“We are so proud of this guy. What a run in the Feehan today. The ride from Rhys McLeod was a 10/10, can’t wait for his next run.”

“Thank you to our team at Nick Ryan Racing who do a brilliant job getting him to the races.”

That next run isn’t set in stone as of yet but there is a possibility it might be the Group 1 Toorak Handicap at Caulfield in a months time.
